Undersea Mystery

Illustration depicting a mermaid.  As a personal work, my idea was to embrace experimentation and be fully inspired by undersea flora, fauna and folk tales.

Sol e Lua

Proposal work for a competition, where the initial prompt was life.
As a diptych, they work as two different parts of a cycle, sun and moon, day or night, light or dark. The cyclical nature of life and all of its parts inspired this work.

Two illustrations made in the context of the project Histórias da Ajudaris, created by the Portuguese association Ajudaris, an initiative that works with texts made by children in different schools, and illustrators that work from them. Everyone is invited to illustrate two small texts, and in this volume the theme was water.

Work inspired by sunlight and warmth, and how intricate the world of plants and sunlight is. Thought to be a series with six made, Sunflower is a collage made with new and reused papers.

The theme of the year was party. I illustrated August, in Portugal month of summer and a lot of festivities in every town dedicated to every different catholic saints and traditional tales.
